Dr. Jese Coronado
Born and raised in the crux of a highly impoverished, gang infested community in the heart of the Central Valley, Dr. Coronado grew up understanding and living the social complexities and challenges that existed in the heart of his environment. His educational journey began in marginal schools where he craved to be challenged and expected to better excel in the various academic domains. His passion to excel despite injustices and shortcomings assisted in him in wanting to serve underrepresented students and those who serve such settings later in life. Teaching and leading in the community where he resided and frequented, Dr. Coronado learned quickly of the greater need to lead initiatives that were innovative, necessary, and research based to meet the evolving challenges that many students possess coming to school. With resilience always being a fundamental core value paralleled with integrity and grit, Dr. Coronado set out to serve students and districts where many times are faced with limited resources and many afflictions. His educational expertise ranges in varied capacities from elementary teacher to county level administrator. Dr. Coronado has extensive experience in curriculum development and instructional design as well as intervention platforms that support districts and schools that underperform in these areas.
Dr. Coronado holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a Multiple Subject teaching credential, a Clear Administrative Services Credential, and a doctorate from the University of Pacific in Educational Leadership and Administration. Additionally, Dr. Coronado competed his second doctoral degree in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at University of Southern California. Moreover, Dr. Coronado is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
He currently resides not too far from the community in which he was raised and is committed to continue his work supporting and changing the mindsets of those who have a ‘face like his own.’ Dr. Coronado is currently working on publication of two research articles, a book from his doctoral collective case study, and has recently been invited to participate in the application process for an associate professorship with University of Southern California.
